Chateau Morrisette is one of my favorite places to spend a hot summer afternoon. The beautiful winery is nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains near the town of Floyd, Virginia. I realize that this is not a North Carolina winery, but it is close.
Winery: 291 Winery Road SW
Restaurant: 287 Winery Road SW

You may notice that the label is of a black dog. This is because the owner seems to have a thing for black dogs. See one pictured below. On my few visits to the winery, this black dog has the run of the grounds. He mingles with the winery guests and acts as the official greater.
Every Sunday June through October, enjoy award-winning wines, breathtaking views from the Blue Ridge, and an eclectic array of musical artists performing on Chateau Morrisette’s Winery Courtyard 1-4p. Featuring jazz first Sundays.
Sunday Sounds admission is free; wine and light café fare available.
As with most other businesses, the winery is being affected by the Covid-19 virus. This is a statement taken from the Chateau Morrisette web site concerning the virus.
Due to Covid -19, we are not offering tastings at this current time.
Our Restaurant is closed for all services until further notice.
While we can not offer tastings at this time, we do currently have inside and outside seating where you can come and purchase our wine to enjoy on the premises up until 5:00pm. You may bring your own picnic basket and as always, dogs are welcome!
